Superbowl!
So...the Superbowl came and went. Hell, the playoffs came and went. There were no signs of the Steelers, except for Troy Polamalu in a Groundhog's Day commercial that was, to say the least, odd. I look back upon the football season and reflect on what could have been. Of course, not being in the playoffs is new to me, not like the Bears fans here in Chicago. They are used to it.
What killed us, and the season, was the 5 game losing streak to poor teams. I realize losing Troy for most of the season was bad, but come on people. Losing to KC, Cleveland, and University of Akron? I think when Troy was out, the defense lost its edge. For real. So many big plays. So many come from behind losses. The black & gold were playing not to lose.
Ben and the offense had a great year, and even the individual games of some defensive players were outstanding, just look at the Pro Bowl.
To the Superbowl. I'm glad the Saints won. I saw what happened to that city after Katrina. The French Quarter got fixed pretty quickly, because that's where all the tourists hang. But driving over to CSz NOLA, I saw a ton of destroyed houses. They probably were destroyed for years. Good to put a good thing there.
My favorite commercial:
